SnapCar is a mobile application with a network of chauffered vehicles that will pick you up on demand: in two clicks.
With SnapCar, you don’t need to know phone numbers, wait on hold, or keep your arm out on the street in the rain. Click on SnapBook...and we’re there. With SnapCar, it’s so easy and pleasant to get around that you’ll wonder why it hasn’t always worked this way.
I click on the app, I’m geolocalised, I confirm, and my car arrives curbside. That’s it. With the “SnapBook” button, you can literally reserve in two clicks.
Or with the “Book” button, you can do more:
Your mobile device is now the only tool you need to get anywhere in and around the city.
SnapCar is perfect if you can’t or don’t want to drive yourself, or if you can’t stand the thought of looking endlessly for a parking space. It’s ideal for women looking to get from place to place in safety, comfort and security. And of course it’s optimal for business travelers. We built it for you.
It doesn’t cost much more than a parking space and - believe us - it’s so much nicer. What’s the point in killing yourself driving all over the place or waiting for a taxi that never comes? With SnapCar, you go where you need to go in comfort, class and security. Focus on the stuff you’re good at; we’ll get you there.
*Fees displayed are for information purposes and are subject to change. SnapCar invoices are the reference in case of discrepancy.
SnapCar operates under the revolutionary assumption that you should be able to know how much something costs before you buy it. We know: incredible, right? So SnapCar is priced simply: based on distance and time, with simple and clear minimum pricing.
If you want to know the price in advance, tell us where you want to go and we’ll show you.* It’s easy to put in an address: we store all the ones you’ve previously used - and literally millions of others - and see the ones you need in a single click. So it’s easy to know.
You can also, anytime you like, see the cost of your trip on your device. Just click on “Price” and we show you. The point is to not be surprised at the end. Revolutionary, right? Yeah, we know.
*not guaranteed based on traffic
SnapCar makes getting around the city easy and cool. But a classy experience as well. Easy because you can book in two clicks, because we know where to pick you up without having to tell us, and because payment is a “snap”.
But also classy. We promise you there’s a difference: It’s nice to be the one in the black Mercedes with tinted windows, no? We promise that your car and driver will be impeccable* (*SnapCar guarantees that your car will be a Mercedes E Class or equivalent, and your chauffeur dressed appropriately), that you’ll be treated with respect, and that we’ll go exactly where you want to go.
In a SnapCar you’ll find bottled water and iPhone chargers waiting for you. Drink all you want, we’ll get more. And with our Spotify integration you can define the music you like and we’ll have it playing for you when you get in the car. So sing along if you want. Or you can just listen to the sound of silence. We respect that.
Making Transport so much easier. And a bit more social: SnapCar memorises all the places you’ve been, so you can easily access (and take again) any booking you’ve made. Easy, then, to know how long your next booking might take, and how much it might cost.
We also enable you to share where you’re going with those who matter to you: by SMS, email, Facebook or Twitter. If you like sharing, one simple click to the client you’re going to meet, or to the friends you’re having dinner with, and they can follow you in real time, watching you arrive in your car via map on their device. You’re having the SnapCar experience, but it doesn’t mean they can’t live a little: vicariously through you...
What’s behind the magic
SnapCar is easy for the user because the application has been developed by wildly smart engineers using sophisticated algorithms. Their heads almost exploded working out how to reach you most efficiently, but they did it: SnapCars are placed in locations most likely to minimise the time it takes us to get to where you are. Time is money after all. Our estimations take into account distance, speed and real-time traffic to - voila! - tell you when we’ll be there.
SnapCar interfaces with both Google Maps and Bing, to ensure we have the best and most up-to-date maps and real-time traffic information on the planet. And we’re linked with Foursquare, to provide you with immediate access to one of the largest address / interest points databases in the world. Who knows that bar’s address anyway? Isn’t it better to be able to search by name if you need to? If there’s a better way to do it, let us know so we can get working.
SnapCar is available on an exclusive basis beginning in Paris on July 25, 2012. Why Paris? Because it kicks ass, that’s why. Plus it rains a lot here, so people need us.
But we understand that you’re impatient and get annoyed with delays. So do we. So SnapCar will soon arrive in a number of large european cities. Or if you want to find out where we’ll be next, follow us on Twitter: @snapcar. We’ll be happy to let you in on our secrets.
If you want to be one of the exclusive early adopters of SnapCar, download us on July 25th. If you’re a blogger, journalist, or Twitter leader that might want to try out the SnapCar experience, contact us here or on twitter. We’d love to hear from you.
